SMART Classroom Technology Grant

Combining the simplicity of a whiteboard with the power of a computer, the interactive whiteboard engages students. The touch-sensitive display connects to a computer and digital projector to show a computer image. The teacher can then control the computer application directly from the display, write notes in digital ink and save work to share or review later.

To further enhance the interactive teaching and learning, the interactive board can be used with an interactive response system. With the system, teachers can display or speak prepared or ad hoc questions, students anonymously key in answers with their remote, and responses are tallied, then displayed on a projection screen or interactive whiteboard.
