Rx for Reading
Rx for Reading, an independent 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1989 as a nonprofit affiliate of The Riordan Foundation. This status allows us to leverage funding partnerships with other foundations and to provide schools the opportunity to show their commitment to technology integration by way of matching grants. Through Rx for Reading programs, we have proudly distributed more than 27,000 computers to over 2,190 schools in forty states, provided funds for over 187,000 books in elementary classrooms, and have graduated over 3,000 young professionals through our leadership programs.
Rx for Reading and The Riordan Foundation have the same staff, offices and goals; the two classifications merely allow us to offer more programs, increase our fundraising ability and ensure that our grants have the greatest impact possible.
